You Have to Start Somewhere

Rather than delve into a discussion regarding; What on Earth does ‘Blog’ mean?  I’m more interested in the sunset I shot yesterday on the way home. I’ll write a little about the photo and try to insert it in the page. At worst, I’ll stick a link to it.

The shot has the Saddleback Butte in the far background. The area I took the shot in is southwest of Llano.  The sun was just sinking below the horizon as may be seen by the shadows drawn across the distant mountains. The sun had set behind the mountain ridge in back of me about 5 minutes before. I liked the layers of light and color the whole scene presented.

The image is a composite of 4 exposures. One dead-on, two under, and one overexposed. The were combined and processed through a method known as ‘High Dynamic Range’, (HDR).
